My Teaching Philosophy

When I was a new teacher my teaching philosophy was about building relationships, engaging students, and creating thinkers.  Big, awesome ideas but with little real knowledge or experience on how to implement them.
Fast forward ten years and those big ideas are still at the forefront of my teaching practice but now they have some substance.  I have learned and grown and changed... and will continue to do so.  The philosophical statements below reflect what experience and my students have taught me so far... this is how I build relationships, engage students, and create thinkers.
