Master's in Numeracy from SFU
I really love math... and I really love learning. So when the opportunity came up to pursue my Master of Education in Numeracy, I didn't hesitate. For the past year and a half, I have spent every second or third weekend immersed in the pedagogy involved in the teaching and learning of mathematics. We have amazing profs who fly in from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby to share their knowledge and experience, and I get to collaborate with a cohort of other math loving teachers. I'll be finished in June 2014 and it really has been an awesome experience.

Teacher Exchange
Participating in a short term teacher exchange was the highlight of my summer in 2013. I traveled through parts of Europe for a couple weeks before meeting up with my exchange partner at her home near Frankfurt, Germany. This was an amazing opportunity to experience firsthand the cultural differences between schools. It broadened my perspective of education and helped me reflect on my own teaching practice.
While I was away, I challenged myself to write a blog and even pushed myself out of my comfort zone to create a few vlogs! |
